Ive only recent learned about the photographer Matt Molloy and absolutely love his work. Inspired by Matt Molloy, I tried to create something similar! This photo is actually made up of over 100 photos. With the camera on a tripod and using a remote, I took lots of photos of the same scene, at a correct exposure, with about 5 – 10 seconds in between each shot. I then opened each photo up as a separate layer in Photoshop using the Lighten blend mode, to combine them and show the movement of the clouds in the sky. I love the painterly look it created. I was surprised by how much the sky changed in such a short amount of time, and cant wait to try this on a stormy day! Im really happy with the end result and cant wait to create more Matt Molloy inspired photos!!

  1. I admire your patience in processing over 100 photos and certainly has resulted in an intriguing image, that as you said, looks more like a painting than a photo. It looks great.
