This was my first experience doing portrait photography, and I really enjoyed it! I tried to get different and the right lighting. The first photo is an individual side composition with a blurry background. To achieve this my model was at least 20 feet away from the background. Then I took head and shoulder photos, full body photos. The Cowboy photo is my individual environmental photo as the cowboy was at work and I asked if I could snap away!

  1. Kirsty! I absolutely adore the second image in your portraits. The angle is just right that it really brings out her best features and brings the focus to the eyes. I also really like how you had such a diverse set of images from different situations. It really shows your diversity and intrigues the reader. A really cool tool is watching for the exposure metering at the bottom of your viewfinder screen. I think this will help to get the perfect exposure when you are photographing. Good luck! I always love your work!
